CARE Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge
New to the Challenge team’s portfolio of events is the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. Whether you’re a hiking enthusiast or just fancy exploring the Yorkshire Dales then this is the event for you.
Covering around 31 km in a target time of 10 hours, you will scale 3 mountains in Yorkshire - Pen-y-ghent (694m),
Whernside (736m), and Ingleborough (723m).
The 3 peaks form part of the Pennine range and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Whernside and Ingleborough are the 2 highest mountains in Yorkshire.
You will climb over 5,000 feet (1,600 metres), taking in stunning scenery and an array of cultural heritage - including the remains of an Iron Age hill fort at the summit of Ingleborough and the Settle- Carlisle Railway at the base of Whernside – along the way.
You will be required to raise £500 minimum per person, with 3 - 6 people per team. The funds that you raise will assist us in helping over 59 million people a year find routes out of poverty. For example your £500 could help a village in Uganda or Malawi to start a savings and loan group, providing them with all the equipment and training they need to form a committee, save money together and start making loans to support small local business activities.
We will assist you at every stage of this Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge with pre-event training and fundraising advice and support, as well as on the day, with safety provision including a team radio and experienced guides on route ensuring that you are fully equipped for your Yorkshire 3 Peaks Yorkshire Challenge.
