Walk
Join our walkathon and contribute to our vital Rapid Response Fund that enables us to be amongst the first to respond when emergencies strike.
When natural disasters or humanitarian emergencies occur, appealing to the general public for funds can lose crucial time. By joining our walkathon, you will contribute to our Rapid Response Fund enabling us to provide fast, effective relief to people in need as soon as emergencies hit.
This 25 km walk around Windsor will take place on 2 October 2010. We will also be celebrating 25 years of CARE International in the UK and everything we have achieved in this time, so this will be a great opportunity for CARE supporters to come together and have a fantastic day in the outdoors. We ask for a minimum donation of £25 per person and encourage each participant to continue to fundraise thereafter.
Whether it’s food, water, blankets, hygiene kits, emergency shelter or medical supplies that are needed, we’ll be there to help. In emergency situations, a few hours can mean the difference between life and death, and your funds will save lives.
Between July 2009 and February 2010, CARE reached 3 million people in emergency situations. This included responding to conflicts in Sri Lanka and Pakistan, natural disasters in Haiti and Chile, and food crises in Ethiopia and Kenya.
