CARE 3 Peaks Challenge Scotland

This is a CARE Challenge with a difference. Tackle 3 mountains in key historical locations in Scotland, each steeped in the country’s bloody past of civil war and conflict. Hike through history, and at the same time, learn about and support CARE’s life-changing work in modern day conflict zones throughout the world. 

Fighting poverty in a war zone is a complex task. Conflict undermines long-term development programmes, ignites emergencies and destroys basic infrastructure, like roads and water pipes.

We work to make our projects ‘conflict sensitive’ – which means training and helping our staff and partners to avoid unintentionally contributing to conflict and to build peace where possible. We work to bring people together to start, and support, peace-building projects.

The CARE 3 Peaks Challenge – Scotland not only takes in new and challenging routes, you will be hiking on mountains seldom used on traditional challenge events. You will also be challenged to complete mystery tasks along the way, tackling the theme of conflict from a historical and contemporary perspective. 3 stunning mountains in 24 hours, with a truly thought-provoking twist!
