The Edinburgh Marathon

Edinburgh has an international reputation as an exciting, picturesque city and is a great place to visit. These factors, coupled with the warmth and generosity of the people, make Edinburgh an ideal place for a major event like a Marathon.

The 26.2 mile route will allow you to take in great views of Edinburgh Castle, Princes Street, Holyrood Palace and the Royal Yacht Britannia. There will be live bands and performers at key stages along the route to encourage runners and attract cheering spectators.

You have the option to run the whole Marathon yourself or run with friends or colleagues in the Hairy Haggis team relay. You can enter the Hairy Haggis as a team of 2 or 5, allowing you to soak up the marathon atmosphere but not run the full 26.2 miles.

 

 

How to apply:

CARE has 5 Guaranteed Edinburgh Marathon places.  Apply to CARE for a guaranteed place.  We request each Gold Bond runner to initially send in £50.00 to guarantee his or her place, and then raise a further £450.00 for CARE. The same amount applies to Hairy Haggis relay teams.
