Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge

Colleagues from the fashion world are already teaming up to challenge themselves and challenge poverty in the 2010 Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge supported by Footwear Today on 22 May.

Taking place in Exmoor, teams will hike, bike and canoe the distance of a marathon in ten hours. It’s no mean feat, but efforts will be worthwhile: funds raised will support CARE International in helping some of the poorest people in the world overcome challenges of their own caused by poverty.

Amongst the first to sign up are a team with a history of supporting CARE. Zoe Moss, captain of an intrepid bunch from ZoCa Clothing,  has not only entered previous CARE challenges: Zoe and business partner Carole Harrison have created their own line of active wear, inspired by the CARE Challenge Series- with ten per cent of profits being donated to the charity.

Says Zoe, “I first heard about CARE through Carole.  Being from the Lake District, she was aware of CARE Challenge events and aware of the work done by CARE. We have since participated in two CARE events, and  learnt more about the organisation. The management of the events, and our overall experience of CARE, has been extremely positive, and something we relate to. Our outdoor fitness clothing provides a natural fit to the CARE challenge events, and thereby a good opportunity to contribute in raising awareness and funds.”

The ZOCA range will be showcased in some high profile stores in Spring/Summer 2010, with a wider range being introduced for Autumn/Winter 2010. In the meantime, Zoe and her team are looking forward to their third CARE Challenge. “The Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge is a great opportunity for sharing different activities with team members all within the space of one (albeit long) day! It’s good to have a challenge to train for – especially one which encourages camaraderie and a team approach.”

The teambuilding aspect of the day appeals to Zoe. “I relish the prospect of spending time in the outdoors with colleagues.  It’s good to meet other teams and enjoy some friendly rivalry. That said, I remain wary of canoeing.  The thought of capsizing and losing contact lenses is not one I choose to dwell on!”

This will be the fifth Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge. The event aims to bring the total raised for CARE by the fashion industry to quarter of a million pounds. That’s not the only landmark: by the end of the event, participants will have hiked, biked and canoed over 10,000 km between them!

Zoe is keen to encourage other corporate teams to sign up. “Like most industries, it’s easy to get caught up in day-to-day business.  The CARE challenge event is chance to step out of that, and gain new perspectives about ourselves, the people around us and the bigger picture.  Being active benefits us in our well-being, and having a challenge with a great cause is an excellent motivator to rally a team.”

The event is supported by Prima Solutions (both as key sponsor and event participants). Prima Solutions is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of complete multi-channel IT solutions to the clothing, footwear and accessories market.

Why not take on the challenge for this fantastic cause?
