Do something amazing this year
As the new year kicks in, CARE International are offering everyone from the outdoor enthusiast to the under-exercised workaholic a fantastic incentive to keep up with that new year’s fitness plan, to continue those resolutions to lose a bit of weight, and especially an opportunity for anyone who has resolved to do something worthwhile this year.
Here’s a chance to harness your New Year’s motivation to get fit whilst learning about and supporting CARE’s valuable work in 70 countries. CARE’s work includes supporting families and communities in conflict zones around the world, including current crucial work in Gaza. While challenging yourself, you can make a lasting difference to families whose every single day is an uphill struggle.
The Challenge
The CARE 3 Peaks Challenge Scotland takes place on 9th-10th May 2009.
Teams of 4-6 people will take on three key historic Scottish mountains in 24 hours- each steeped in the country’s bloody past of civil war and conflict. At the same time, teams will learn about and support CARE’s life-changing work in modern day conflict zones throughout the world.
The most important challenge of all is to raise a minimum of £6000 per team to support CARE, whose vital work helps over 55 million people in 70 countries to find a route out of poverty.
Says CARE Challenge Manager Michele Evans, “The CARE 3 Peaks Challenge in Scotland is a new and innovative fundraising concept and a fantastic personal challenge, as well as a unique team building opportunity for colleagues. It’s the ideal New Year’s Resolution, combining training together with the worthwhile goal of supporting CARE’s poverty fighting programmes overseas.”
In 2009, why not sign up for an incredible New Year’s commitment: to challenge poverty and challenge yourself.
