CARE International and Total Objects announce new Lloyd?s List partnership
Leading overseas development agency CARE International and software company Total Objects are delighted to announce a new media partnership with Lloyd?s List and the launch of the 2007 Total Objects Adventure Challenge, the outdoor teambuilding challenge designed exclusively for the Insurance Sector.
Sponsored by Total Objects, the challenge is a one-day multi-activity event that sees corporate teams of 4 members apiece hike, bike and canoe their way round the Lake District ? and raise funds for CARE International?s essential overseas development work tackling poverty in 70 countries around the world. This includes providing safe drinking water, education, micro-credit schemes to small businesses, as well as emergency aid provision when disaster strikes. CARE is also working in partnership with insurers Allianz, to provide micro-insurance to thousands communities affected by the 2004 tsunami in Sri Lanka.
CARE International?s Helen Stoddart explained: ?We are delighted to be working with such a prestigious publication as Lloyd?s List on this exciting event targeting the Lloyd?s Insurance Market. Their legacy and unrivalled coverage sits very well alongside CARE?s own international remit and decades of development experience. We feel that this a natural partnership for us to be reaching the right industry people for the Total Objects Adventure Challenge, and anticipate that Lloyd?s List?s excellent coverage will help position it as the leading teambuilding event for the insurance industry.?
The inaugural Total Objects Adventure Challenge in 2006 raised over ?50,000 for CARE. Participating companies included Legal and General, Besso, Hettle Andrews, Ashgates and Ross Lloyd. Teams from the Lloyd?s Insurance Market are invited to register for the 2007 Total Objects Adventure Challenge as soon possible by visiting www.carechallenge.org.uk, as places are limited.

About CARE
1. CARE International is one of the world?s largest aid agencies, working in 70 countries to fight poverty and helping more than 48 million people every year. Our long-term development programmes tackle the deep-seated causes of poverty and we are always among the first to respond when disaster strikes. We remain with communities to help them rebuild their lives long after the cameras have gone. CARE is working to put an end to the causes of hunger and poverty that keep 120 million people in sub-Saharan Africa permanently living on the edge of emergency. Our Living on the Edge campaign is calling on the international community for a dramatic overhaul of the system which is keeping people trapped, and to give higher priority to recovery and prevention programmes, like seed distribution and improved veterinary services, so that families can pull themselves back from the edge and be in a stronger position to fight off the next emergency themselves.
