CARE and Prima Solutions announce new Drapers partnership

Leading overseas development agency CARE International and software company Prima Solutions are delighted to announce a new media partnership with Drapers and the launch of the 2007 Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge, the outdoor teambuilding challenge designed exclusively for the Fashion Industry.

Sponsored by Prima Solutions, the challenge is a one-day multi-activity event that sees corporate teams of 4 members apiece hike, bike and canoe their way round Snowdonia National Park in Wales ? and raise funds for CARE International?s essential overseas development work tackling poverty in 70 countries around the world. This includes providing safe drinking water, education, micro-credit schemes to small businesses, as well as emergency aid provision when disaster strikes. CARE is also working in partnership with retailers Marks & Spencer, to provide permanent housing to communities affected by the 2004 tsunami in Sri Lanka.

John Norman, MD of Prima Solutions, explained: ?We are very pleased that leading fashion business publication, Drapers, has agreed to take on the role of Media Partner for our 2007 Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge. Our goal this year is to see greater participation from a wide variety of clothing, footwear and accessory companies helping us to better the 2006 fundraising total for CARE International?s much-needed and fantastic work. We are confident that our partnership with Drapers will play a key role in helping us achieve this, and position this Adventure Challenge as the leading teambuilding event for the industry. We urge everyone from the sector to get involved with such an excellent cause.?

The inaugural Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge in 2006 raised over ?50,000 for CARE. Participating companies included Hugo Boss, World Design and Trade, USA Pro, Church?s Shoes, and Morrison McConnell. Teams from the Fashion Industry are invited to register for the 2007 Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge as soon possible by clicking here, as places are limited.

About CARE

CARE International is one of the world?s largest aid agencies, working in 70 countries to fight poverty and helping more than 48 million people every year. Our long-term development programmes tackle the deep-seated causes of poverty and we are always among the first to respond when disaster strikes. We remain with communities to help them rebuild their lives long after the cameras have gone. CARE is working to put an end to the causes of hunger and poverty that keep 120 million people in sub-Saharan Africa permanently living on the edge of emergency. Our Living on the Edge campaign is calling on the international community for a dramatic overhaul of the system which is keeping people trapped, and to give higher priority to recovery and prevention programmes, like seed distribution and improved veterinary services, so that families can pull themselves back from the edge and be in a stronger position to fight off the next emergency themselves.

CARE challenge are an in-house charity fundraising team. We offer many exciting charity events that you can join. All our charity challenges offer amazing adventures outdoors and lots of our activities take place over adventure weekends. If charity runs are your thing, then we have lots to offer - 10K runs, half marathons and many other running events. Or, how about cycling events for charity? We certainly have lots to offer in the charity cycling department. There are charity rides where you can cycle London to Brighton or you can even do a charity bike ride from London to Paris, if London to Brighton isn't far enough! We also have some charity walks and hikes. Later this year we have a sponsored walk that is 25 miles long in order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of CARE International's UK office. If activities outdoors and adventure weekends get your adrenalin pumping, then why not sign up for one of our mountain challenges? We have numerous charity challenges on mountains over the year from three peaks challenges to 24 peaks challenges - if you think you're up to it! For many of our charity fundraising events you can register as a teamleader or part of a team. We believe our charity challenges offer great teambuilding activities and are really great for team events.
