Interview with Geoffrey Osbornes Chief Executive
Find out why Mark Heasman, Geoffrey Osbornes Chief Executive took part and encouraged his colleagues to take part in the COINS 3 Peaks Challenge
Q. What made you decide to join your colleagues on the 2007 COINS 3 Peaks Challenge?
A. I am very keen on outdoor activities and what better way to show the support from the company than taking part myself. I work with good people and look forward to facing the challenge with them in next year?s event.
Q. Osborne are the 2007 event?s first Premier Fundraiser - can you tell us a bit more about this decision?
A. Osborne is committed to supporting charities through the efforts of our employees every year. The success of our teams in the 2006 event provided the motivation to improve on our 2006 efforts in 2007, and coupled with the commitment of our dedicated employees, we felt entering as a Premier Fundraiser was the right decision to make.
Q. Osborne?s fantastic fundraising total in 2006 earned them the COINS Top Fundraisers award in 2006. How supportive has the company been in this, and what are your expectations for the 2007 event?
A. The company was fully behind both Osborne teams in 2006 to help them achieve the fantastic accolade of top fundraiser. We felt that as much fundraising money as possible should go direct to CARE International; to ensure this the company funded the expenses that both teams encountered leading up to and during the event. Our expectations for the 2007 event are that both Osborne teams will exceed the efforts achieved by our teams last year.
Q. Why does Osborne?s support CARE?
A. Osborne is committed to the long term improvement of the communities in which we live; we recognise CARE?s commitment to doing the same in less fortunate countries and are please to support them in this.
Q. Do you have any fundraising or training advice for companies/teams participating in the 2007 COINS 3 Peaks Challenge?
A. Our advice for fundraising is to start early, make it fun and involve as many people in your company as possible. The event is physically demanding so any team is advised to train seriously for the event, the fitter you are the more enjoyable the event will be.
