Last chance to challenge poverty!
This month teams from across the fashion and retail sectors will take each other on in the Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge in Dorset. All companies are welcome to take part so sign up today! The event, taking place on 26th May, will raise funds for poverty relief charity CARE International. Teams will complete a marathon on foot, bike and kayak along the coast of the scenic Purbeck Peninsula in Dorset, followed by a party in Bournemouth.
The latest teams to sign up are from SuperGroup. Team leader Robert Leopold, accounts assistant for the Cheltenham-based firm, says: “SuperGroup entered a team last year. As everyone enjoyed it so much we thought we would enter again this year- this time with three teams including many deciding to return and do their bit for such a good cause.”
CARE’s poverty-fighting work includes, amongst many other projects, helping garment workers in poor communities. CARE’s work resonates with the SuperGroup team and was a factor in their decision to take part in the challenge. Robert explained: “With a considerable global supply base, SuperGroup’s clothing production impacts upon the livelihoods of many thousands of garment workers from poor communities. As a result we put a large amount of effort into proactively working with our suppliers to ensure that working conditions are safe and fair for all workers. This work often complements the work of NGOs such as CARE and as such the issues that CARE addresses certainly resonate with our team.”
The event is sponsored by Prima Solutions, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of complete multi-channel IT solutions to the clothing, footwear and accessories markets. 2012 teams include Timberland, Rampant Clothing, Incorporatewear, Hugo Boss and more.
Head of CARE Challenge Neil Munro says “We have a range of fantastic teams on the event once again this year. This is companies’ last chance to sign up so we urge teams to get involved!”
