Lee campaigns on women’s issues for CARE, and it is her work with women around the world that has inspired her to take to her bike. Lee says, "Through my work for CARE I have been lucky enough to meet inspiring women's rights activists from countries such as Uganda, Rwanda and Afghanistan. They are campaigning in their communities for peace and equality, and I wanted to do something to recognise and support that.”
Lee will be faced with the ambitious challenge of cycling 234 miles in three days from capital to capitale, winding through the English and French countryside and finishing with a well-earned lap of honour around Paris’ aptly named Arc de Triomphe. She adds, “I'm quite nervous about the ride, I'm not naturally sporty and it's a long way! But I've been training hard on the hills around Croydon, and I hope that on the way to Paris, the thought of the great women activists I have met will help me over the hills."
CARE’S WORK

CARE is also linking entrepreneurs in developing countries with individual investors in the UK through new microfinance initiative www.lendwithcare.org. Anyone can change a life with a loan from just £15, and get their money back.
CARE hopes to raise over £37,500 through this event and Lee hopes to raise at least £1300.
