In their debut event with the CARE Challenge Series, the IT team at Charles Taylor Consulting are planning to enter two intrepid teams for the CARE 3 Peaks Challenge supported by Computer Weekly.  Their enthusiasm for the event has been exceptional, with the only initial grey cloud being the fundraising target for 2 teams of £12,000, which at first seemed like an insurmountable mountain to climb.

Taking matters into his own hands, Gary Willis, IT Director, invited CARE along to run a fundraising workshop for the teams.  The session was a great success and provided a framework for ideas to be shared and collated.  Once the ball was rolling, the teams realised the range of resources actually available to them, from their colleagues and corporate networks to their friends and family.  It soon emerged that the team shared a passion for sport and the pub, so this is where they plan to hold most of their events - starting with pub quizzes, collections and a corporate golf day!

Gary comments "Fundraising seems to be an even bigger challenge than the training, but the workshop really focussed our ideas and has kick-started our fundraising in a big way. Within a couple of weeks we have exceeded £1,500 and from now the sky is the limit. The time commitment of training means that we have to be smart in our fundraising efforts but we are dedicated to reaching our target for CARE and believe whole heartedly in where our money is going."
