CARE Construction Challenge

construction_supporters.jpgBuilding on the success of our 2009 CARE Construction Challenge, we will be hosting another event exclusively for the Construction Industry, but this time the event will take place in Wales.

24 Peaks Challenge

event_table_construction1.jpgWhether you are involved with the design, build, operation or refurbishment of the built environment, or supply to the industry, this is the event for you. You will complete this 1 day multi-activity challenge as part of a team of 4 people where individually you will cover a marathon distance on foot, bike and water. This adrenaline-fuelled adventure involves a raft build and a few mystery challenges along the way!

Test your physical and mental ability, as well as your practical skills, whilst also raising valuable funds for some of the most important and pioneering Emergency Shelter & Reconstruction projects in the world. For example, your £3000 could fund the deployment and assessment carried out by one of CARE’s Emergency Shelter Advisers used in emergencies like the recent earthquakes in Haiti. Or the funds that you raise could support some of CARE’s other projects including erecting temporary shelter for families whose homes and lives have been devastated by war or training communities in improved construction techniques.

We will ensure that you are supported at every stage of your training and fundraising prior to the event, as well as on the day with experienced staff on hand to help.

To support you, we have secured two nights’ accommodation at Glamorgan University (individual rooms) including breakfasts and packed lunches for £80 per person so taking part couldn’t be easier. The event will commence on the Friday evening at Glamorgan University with registration and pre-event drinks.

We are aware that the World Cup will be taking place around this time and provisions will be made to ensure that you don’t miss any key matches!

Download our CARE in Emergencies leaflet to find out more about CARE's work during emergencies and in particular the importance of shelter and reconstruction in these programmes.

Challenge Yourself. Challenge Poverty.
