The CARE New Media Challenge is the ultimate team building challenge for those who work in digital media or marketing industry. As a team, you’ll each cover a marathon on foot, bike and kayak.
The Challenge
You will start by running or walking the multi-terrain trail challenge that takes you through forest and heath, and winds its way to the stunning beach that forms Studland Bay. Here, you will complete the exhilarating sea kayaking challenge, heading out towards the Old Harry rocks and returning to the beach to complete the final leg of the trail route.
You’ll then switch over to bikes to cycle up and round the Jurassic Coast and along the mighty chalk cliffs. The route will provide you with stunning views of the bay, before you cycle back along the ridge back to the base.
You will be rewarded with a well-deserved meal and party at a nearby location after the challenge, where you can celebrate your achievements with your team members and other competitors.
What’s provided on the challenge:
- Event and safety briefings at each stage
- Radio and route maps
- Bike and helmet
- Canoe equipment and life jacket
- Support staff and medics
- Post event party - a celebratory meal and prize giving on the Saturday night!
Why join?
By taking part your funds will help to improve the lives of the world's poorest communities.
For example, CARE is providing emergency relief – including food and water - to people affected by the food crisis in East Africa, but we are also addressing the root causes of people’s poverty. We are helping communities to diversify their livelihoods and are working with people to improve farming techniques for drought resistant crops. We are also helping to train Kenyan women entrepreneurs in business management skills. Lillian (pictured right), was able to start her own clothing business. “I am now able to meet my household expenses as well as being able to save a small amount every month. I am also able to buy my children what they need for school, like books and uniforms,” says Lillian.
The Challenge team will support you at every stage of your New Media Adventure Challenge and will be on hand to offer support and advice relating to fundraising and training.
Challenge Yourself. Challenge Poverty.
