Every minute five children die from hunger.
Two year old Sylvestre (pictured right) from Chad, Africa, lives miles away from the nearest health clinic and suffered diarrhoea caused by malnutrition for an agonising 3 months.
Across West and Central Africa many thousands just like him are at risk of malnutrition. Factors like erratic rainfall and failed harvests mean people have little food or water.
By walking, you will help CARE to provide emergency supplies. Just £10 – your registration fee for Walk All Over Poverty - could give a child like Sylvestre a month's supply of life saving high energy emergency food. Fundraise £100 and you could help to establish 3 community gardens so more than 15 families can grow food to eat and sell.
With your support, CARE can also help families to adapt to erratic weather – helping them to learn about how to protect their food sources by growing drought resistant crops, for example.
Have a great day out and help the fight against hunger. Thank you.
