The London to Brighton Cycle Challenge
Take to your bike and cycle all 91 km from city to coast in CARE’s London to Brighton bike ride.
You will cycle out of Kingston and past the historic Hampton Court Palace. The route then winds through the Surrey countryside, undulates through the North Downs and into National Trust protected area. After a picnic lunch provided en-route, you cycle through the country lanes of Sussex, deep into the beautiful Leonard’s Forest.
Following the final refreshment stop, you will complete the last leg of the cycle ride over the South Downs and up the renowned Devil’s Dyke, which provides stunning views of the South Downs and Brighton.
The scenic route winds through idyllic country roads, avoiding main roads where possible and will be clearly arrowed. Marshals will be situated at key locations as well as guides cycling with you to ensure your safety throughout the day.
Why Join our London to Brighton Cycle Challenge?
This is a great way to get fit and explore the best of rural south on bike with friends, family, work colleagues or on your own as a personal challenge. You will also support CARE’s life-saving work with poor communities. For example, CARE supports Village and Savings Groups which equip members with the skills and tools to save money together to make small loans to generate income. A group in Tanzania (pictured) used funds to buy a tricycle that transports pregnant women to hospital in emergency situations, saving women’s and babies’ lives.
